Morehead State University’s Space Science Center plays a critical role in state’s booming aerospace industry

MOREHEAD, Ky. – Kentucky’s largest export is aerospace, and a big reason aerospace is booming in Kentucky is because of organizations like the Space Science Center at Morehead State University.  The Kentucky Aerospace Industry Consortium (KAIC) recently released a special report on the rise of Aerospace in Kentucky in The Lane Report.

Morehead State University is an East Kentucky partner of Shaping Our Appalachian Region, Inc. (SOAR). The work of the Space Science Center aligns with SOAR’s Regional Blueprint, specifically goals of workforce in a 21st century economy and industrial recruitment.

“The Space Science Center is a tremendous asset to not only Appalachia Kentucky but the entire Commonwealth,” said Jared Arnett, executive director of SOAR. “Dr. [Benjamin) Malphrus and the team at the Space Science Center continue to be industry leaders when it comes to innovation and education related to the aerospace industry.”
