Shannon Marie Kennedy Garrett is the founder of Shannon Marie Art. She grew up in Clay County and graduated high school in 1987 before earning her pharmacy degree in 1993. She spent years working as a pharmacist, but a breast cancer diagnosis became a life-changing turning point that reshaped her priorities, deepened her faith, and ultimately influenced the direction of her life.
After continuing her pharmacy career for several more years, she felt called to become a stay-at-home mom, a decision that opened space for creativity to reenter her life. As a child, she took a pottery class and fell in love with the process, never imagining it would later grow into a meaningful vocation. What began as rediscovering a childhood joy evolved into a passion for creating art with purpose.
Today, through Shannon Marie Art, she designs pottery and artwork meant to uplift, encourage, and share messages of faith. Each piece reflects her journey, grounded in gratitude and trust in God’s plan. Her hope is that her work speaks to the heart, reminding others they are seen, loved, and important regardless of their circumstances.
