A New Kind of Opportunity

This hiring event will feature opportunities with WECTEC Staffing Service LLC, a subsidiary and staffing agency of Westinghouse Electric Company LLC, connected through Shaping Our Appalachian Region’s Eastern Kentucky Talent Network.

Many of these roles are tied to nuclear outage work, a specialized field that supports maintenance and operations at power plants across the country.

Here’s what that means in simple terms:

  • You travel to a job site for a set period of time
  • You complete high-value, technical work
  • You return home between projects

For the right person, this model can open doors that simply don’t exist in a traditional local job.

This Is Already Happening in Eastern Kentucky, And You Could Be Next

This isn’t an idea.
It’s already happening.

More than 40 Eastern Kentuckians are currently working in nuclear outage roles across the country, traveling for work, earning strong wages, and bringing that income back home to this region.

These individuals didn’t leave Eastern Kentucky behind.
They expanded what was possible while continuing to call it home.

They are:

  • Working in high-demand, specialized roles
  • Earning significantly more than traditional local jobs
  • Spending meaningful time at home between assignments
  • Building careers, and in some cases, businesses, because of that flexibility

This is not a future possibility.
It’s a real, proven pathway that people from Eastern Kentucky are already walking.

And now, there is an opportunity for you to step into it.

Work Across the Country. Live in Eastern Kentucky.

One of the most important things to understand about these roles is this: you don’t have to leave Eastern Kentucky to pursue them.

Many individuals build careers where they:

  • Travel for work
  • Earn significantly higher wages
  • Spend extended time at home between assignments

Some workers make enough during outage seasons to match, or exceed, what they would earn working year-round locally.

Others use that flexibility to spend more time with family, invest in their communities, or even start their own business.

This is about expanding what’s possible without giving up where you call home.

More Than One Path: Skilled Trades, Manufacturing, and Energy

While nuclear outage work is a major focus, this event is not limited to one type of job.

Employers are looking for individuals with experience in:

  • Manufacturing
  • Mechanical and electrical trades
  • Energy and extraction industries
  • Field service and technical roles

If you have hands-on experience, technical skills, or a background in industrial work, there is a strong chance there is an opportunity here for you.

Why the EKY Talent Network Matters

Here’s where this event becomes different.

Anyone can show up to a hiring event, but not everyone gets the same opportunity.

Through the EKY Talent Network, you’re not walking in alone. You’re stepping into a system designed to help you succeed.

When you join, you get:

  • Access to thousands of jobs, local, remote, and travel-based
  • A team working with you to match your skills to employers
  • Invitations to exclusive hiring events like this one
  • Ongoing support beyond a single application

How to Get to the Front of the Line

There are a limited number of interview slots available for this event.

If you want to give yourself the best chance, here’s what you need to do:

  • Complete the form on our website
  • Upload your resume
  • Meet one-on-one with a member of our team for an assessment

From there:

  • We evaluate your experience and readiness
  • If you’re a match, we schedule your interview in advance

That’s the difference.

You’re not waiting in line hoping for an opportunity, you’re securing one ahead of time.

Walk-ins are welcome on the day of the event, but interviews are not guaranteed without going through this process.

Take the Next Step
