According to Forbes Magazine and global market research company Statista, employee satisfaction surveys show Appalachian Regional Healthcare (ARH) is among the Top 10 best employers in Kentucky
To arrive at these rankings, Statista experts surveyed thousands of employees on criteria like salary, atmosphere, and working conditions.
ARH, a Cornerstone Partner of SOAR, ranked ninth on the list and is one of only two companies in the report’s Top 10 Kentucky employers to be headquartered in Kentucky (the other being University of Kentucky.)
“We are very excited to rank number nine on the Forbes list, especially since the results were determined by our employees. From the top down, our people strive to make ARH a great place to work and I’m happy to see it’s paying off,” said ARH President and CEO Joe Grossman. “We are proud of our team and all they do to take care of their patients and each other. Now our next steps will be to set our sights on moving up the list as we continue to grow our family of employees.”
ARH is the single largest employer in southeastern Kentucky and the third largest private employer in southern West Virginia, but as one of the Top 10 best employers in Kentucky, ARH is in company with major international corporations such as Ford Motor Company, Toyota North America, and FedEx.
Appalachian Regional Healthcare was founded in 1956 and now serves 350,000 residents across Eastern Kentucky and Southern West Virginia, operating 12 hospitals in addition to multi-specialty physician practices, home health agencies, HomeCare Stores, and retail pharmacies.
The ARH system employs more than 5,000 people and has a network of more than 600 active and courtesy medical staff members representing various specialties. ARH also supports students in the medical field through intern and externships and the ARH Scholars Program, which awards thousands of dollars in academic scholarships annually.
