Governor Beshear, the son of former Kentucky Governor Steve Beshear, is a Co-Principal Officer of SOAR along with Congressman Hal Rogers.
Congressman Rogers and former Governor Steve Beshear, co-founded SOAR (Shaping Our Appalachian Region) in 2013 to create a collaborative response to the downturn in the coal industry. The initiative was designed to equip and empower communities and citizens to shape a prosperous future for the region. As co-principal officers of SOAR, both Governor Andy Beshear and Congressman Rogers continue to champion the mission of revitalizing Eastern Kentucky.
