Shaping Our Appalachian Region has partnered with Getro and Code Kentucky to launch the Eastern Kentucky Job Board!
The Job Board is a space where you can browse remote work positions with national and international companies, as well as on-site, hybrid, and remote work opportunities with local and regional employers.
How to Use the Eastern Kentucky Job Board
This isn’t just a job board. While you can browse job opportunities, it provides a platform for job-seekers to create a profile that showcases their talents, receive personalized job alerts, and easily apply for positions.
To create a profile, you must have a LinkedIn profile. The profile is easy to set up.
- Click Join the Talent Network.
- Here, you will answer some basic questions, such as areas you wish to work in; your level of experience; your work preference (on-site-, hybrid, and/or remote); current job status.
- Then, you’ll provide your basic contact information and be prompted to upload a resume.

Jobs Are Here and Staying Here
By 2025, 32.6 million, or 24% of American workers, will work remotely. That’s why Shaping Our Appalachian Region is a national leader in remote worker attraction. They have partnered with MakeMyMove to create a marketing campaign positioning Eastern Kentucky as a destination to plug in and work and unplug and play.
And it is working.
Since launching the national campaign last year, Shaping Our Appalachian Region has performed among the top communities in the country — both urban and rural — in positioning the region as a remote work destination.
People are moving — and bringing their jobs and families — to the region.
One from South Florida to Harlan County.
Another from South Carolina to Johnson County.
And, just recently, another family from New York relocated to Johnson County.
Aside from their jobs and families, they buy homes and contribute to the tax base immediately.
The average salary of these families is over $100,000.
It’s a real opportunity. And one we are all in on. Why?
Our marketing collaboration with MakeMyMove has resulted in
- More than 950,000 impressions.
- More than 1,900 applications.
- More than 260 pre-approvals.
- More than 45 offers.
- More than 30 acceptances.
- Three relocations (with one pending).
