Corbin, KY. – Col. Davis is the Kentucky Labor Cabinet’s Director of the Education and Training Division and will speak about the power of mentoring on Thursday, December 5 at 5:30 pm at the Depot on Main in Corbin.
Col. Davis has a passion for Eastern Kentucky and will share his personal story of crossing the divide between generational poverty and despair to hope and success. As a disadvantaged child in southeastern Kentucky, his mentor encouraged him to aspire for opportunities, and that relationship set Davis on a course that changed his life.
“The day I departed McCreary County for the Air Force in July 1994 was the day I made a vow to myself that someday I would return and encourage Appalachian youth by exposing them to opportunities that I did not have as a kid,” Col. Davis says.
Business and community leaders are invited to be inspired and equipped with tools and ideas to bring hope to the next generation of eastern Kentuckians.
