Want better Internet? Take the Speed Test
Have slow Internet or no Internet at all? Feel like your voice hasn’t been heard?
You can change that! Kentucky stands to receive a record amount of funding for broadband. Where that money goes is where you come in.
It’s as simple as doing a Speed Test! Don’t worry. If you’ve never done it before, we can walk you through it.
Here are the steps:
- Be sure you are using a desktop computer or laptop.
- Visit the Kentucky Speed Test Website.
- Fill out the requested information. No worries, this is simply basic information.
- You’ll have to do this a second and third time to complete the process. You will be sent a reminder and link by email after your first test. This is required for your Speed Test to count.
Don’t have Internet at home? Your voice matters even more. Click the Speed Test, provide your contact information, and simply click “No Service Available.” Need assistance? Email digitalequity@soar-ky.org or call 1-888-760-4227.
This must be completed by June 3! Don’t delay. Start now!

Shaping Our Appalachian Region and the SkillUp Coalition have partnered to offer Eastern Kentucky residents almost 50 short-term national and local training programs — all low-cost or free — through the Eastern Kentucky Training Catalog.

Now you can train for a remote career in tech right here in our region. Shaping Our Appalachian Region and Code Kentucky have partnered to give Eastern Kentucky residents free training in coding. No previous coding experience is required, just a willingness to work hard and a hunger to learn.
