This week was full of food, drinks, and jobs. Take a peek below to learn more!

Charity Kitchen

Not everyone had the pleasure of growing up on a farm with a large, close-knit family whose family dinners feature three generations of excellent southern cooks. Kristin Smith, owner of The Wrigley Taproom & Eatery in Corbin, KY, did and is now paying it forward!

Just this week, Kristin hosted the Whitley County Farmers Market Fundraising Event to raise money and stimulate the local producers, many of which source the wonderful fresh produce available at her restaurant.

Kristin also hosted “Family Cooking Night” in cooperation with the Knox and Whitley County Extension office, Berea College Partners for Education, and Kentucky Horticulture Council. The program provided students with Kentucky Proud ingredients to make pizza as well as receive interactive tutelage from Kristin. She was confident and charismatic, as she engaged with the students.

No visit to Corbin is complete without a trip to The Wrigley Taproom & Eatery to sample her brussel sprouts and anything else that appeals to your palate.

Learn about Double Kwik’s new series

If you love Double Kwik, listen up!

Double Kwik is releasing a new series of beer in collaboration with Broken Throne Brewing called The Mountain Brew Series. Each beer is based off of one of Eastern Kentucky’s breathtaking landmarks. A QR code on the beer directs you to a landing page about the landmark it’s named after.

The first beer in the series is the Bad Branch Falls Vienna Lager. Bad Branch Falls is a waterfall in Whitesburg, Kentucky at the end of a hiking trail near Pine Mountain.

We can’t wait to see what landmark Double Kwik highlights next!
