2024 was an incredible year of achievements for our SOAR Office of Jobs team! 

From our belief that every person in Eastern Kentucky has unique talents and gifts waiting to be leveraged to unlock their full potential. Each day, we work to provide meaningful employment and skills development to help individuals discover their purpose, achieve economic self-sufficiency, and contribute to growing their community.

In 2024, we helped 35 Eastern Kentuckians start new careers through our job placement efforts, helping them take a meaningful step toward economic self-sufficiency.

Our Talent Network grew with 1,754 residents, connecting more people to opportunities and resources tailored to their goals and skills.

We also helped secure an average salary of $52,000, ensuring that new jobs aren’t just a paycheck but a true pathway to sustainable long term success.

126 devices were awarded, helping individuals gain access to the tools they need to thrive in a digital-first world.

With 298 resumes revised, we empowered job seekers to present their best selves and stand out in an ever competitive market.

67 digital skills classes were held to equip our region with critical knowledge for today’s workforce, preparing individuals for high-demand jobs.

The reality, though, is that this isn’t about the numbers—it’s about people. It’s about the wonderful individuals of EKY finding careers that match their passions. It’s about families securing brighter futures for generations to come and communities becoming stronger and more resilient than ever.

Through the dedication and hard work of our incredible team and partners, our vision of ensuring every Eastern Kentuckian has the opportunity for meaningful employment is brighter than ever. 

We are only getting started on this amazing journey and look forward to continuing to build a better future for Appalachia together in 2025!
