Enhance Your Grant Writing Skills at Our Workshop on October 15-16

We are proud to partner with Grant Ready KY, Melissa Vermillion, and Pikeville Medical Center to host a comprehensive Grant Workshop on October 15-16. This hands-on workshop will provide the necessary steps and resources to compete for and secure grant dollars.

Workshop Details

Dates: October 15-16

Times: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Location: Pikeville Medical Center Workforce Innovation Center, 190 S Mayo Trail, Pikeville, KY 41501

Presented by: SOAR, Grant Ready KY, Melissa Vermillion, and Pikeville Medical Center

Transform Your Grant Writing Approach

This workshop, part of the SOAR Summit presented by Appalachian Wireless and the Appalachian Regional Commission, requires a separate registration. It aims to equip organizations with the basics to identify, compete for, and win funding from federal and state governments and foundations.

Registration Fee: $25 (Includes lunch and snacks)

Requirements:

  • Attendance on both days
  • A representative from each organization should bring a laptop

  • Discussing Required Attachments to Grant Applications

Meet Our Expert Facilitator

The workshops will be facilitated by Melissa Vermillion, one of only a dozen people in Kentucky to earn the Grant Professional Certification through the Grant Professionals Certification Institute. Vermillion is a grant writer at Hazard Community & Technical College, where she has served since 2012. She is also a member of the Kentucky Chapter of Grants Professional Association’s Board of Directors and has extensive experience working with and securing funding through various government agencies and foundations, including:

  • Economic Development Administration
  • Abandoned Mine Land Economic Revitalization Program
  • Kentucky Council on Postsecondary Education
  • National Endowment for the Arts
  • National Endowment for the Humanities
