Eastern Kentucky Coding School

A no-cost, 24-week program that teaches coding, builds confidence, and leads to better work

Presented in Partnership with

Learn coding skills that open doors to steady, good-paying careers right here in Eastern Kentucky

Shaping Our Appalachian Region and Code:You have teamed up to help Eastern Kentuckians learn the in-demand skill of coding: The language behind websites, apps, and everyday tools we all use.

You don’t need any experience, just curiosity and the drive to try something new.

You’ll join a small group of local learners, work with instructors who care about your success, and discover that coding isn’t just for “computer people.” It’s for anyone ready to build something better for themselves and their families.

Learning That Fits Your Life

This program was built for working adults: People balancing jobs, family, and everything else life throws their way. There’s no cost for qualified participants. You’re not paid for your time, but the program covers everything. You invest in your future, not your wallet.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Classes meet for 24 weeks, once a week on Thursdays from 6–8 p.m.
  • Plan for about 15 hours of learning each week, at your own pace
  • You’ll learn to read and write coding languages like JavaScript and/or Python
  • No prior experience is required. Just show up eager and committed to learn!
  • Applications are due this spring for the Summer cohort

This isn’t just about learning something new. It’s about changing what’s possible for your future. When you join, you’ll get:

A no-cost education that usually costs thousands and takes years longer to complete elsewhere

Guidance from experienced instructors who teach you step-by-step

Personal and group support, with coaching and check-ins along the way

New skills and experience to add to your resume

A path toward steady work with better pay and room to grow

The chance to qualify for jobs that can be done from anywhere

Your 24-Week Roadmap

Over 24 weeks, participants will build a strong foundation in data analytics using Python. The course is designed to move from core programming skills to practical, real-world analysis techniques—layering new abilities each step of the way. By the end of the program, students will be able to clean, transform, explore, visualize, and interpret data using industry-standard tools. Sessions begin Summer 2026!

Students begin by learning the building blocks of Python and how it supports modern data analytics workflows.

  • Python basics and syntax
  • Introduction to data types, variables, and functions
  • Installing and setting up Anaconda & Jupyter Notebook
  • Overview of essential Python data libraries: NumPy, Pandas, Matplotlib

You Bring the Commitment. We’ll Bring the Opportunity.

You don’t have to be a computer expert to succeed here. If you’re the one your friends call to fix the Wi-Fi, figure out the TV remote, or just “make it work,” you already have what it takes.

This program is for people who:

  • Are 18 or older
  • Live in one of Eastern Kentucky’s 54 counties
  • Have a high school diploma
  • Have consistent access to the internet and a desktop or laptop
  • Want a career with stability, better pay, and long-term potential
  • Are curious, hands-on learners who enjoy puzzles, strategy, or problem-solving
  • Can commit to 24 weeks of learning while managing work and life
  • Have basic computer or smartphone skills
