Nearly 30 people were recognized during a graduation ceremony at Hazard Community and Technical College (HCTC) on Friday, Nov. 9, two months after beginning the school’s Lineman & Fiber Optics training course.
Twenty-four of the 26 graduates entered the training program with assistance from the Eastern Kentucky Concentrated Employment Program’s (EKCEP) Hiring Our Miners Everyday (H.O.M.E.) program via the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) services.
Assistance included covering tuition along with the costs for tools, boots, and other items needed during the training.
