Lead by example: Help Eastern Kentuckians get online

With the Affordable Connectivity Program, residents can reach for valuable opportunities

High-earning remote careers, e-learning, and telehealth are essential to securing our region’s future. But when low-income folks can’t access the internet at home, they’re at risk of being left behind by progress.

As a trusted community leader, you can help Eastern Kentuckians find their way forward. All it takes is a few clicks to bring remote careers, upskilling opportunities, and a better quality of life within reach.

Certain low-income households* are eligible for a $360/year discount on internet service, thanks to the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). According to the FCC, there are thousands of eligible families in our region who aren’t familiar with this benefit.

These families deserve to hear the great news from you. Sharing this information is easy with the ACP Toolkit for local EKY leaders, which includes:

  • Email blast template
  • Social media/newsletter blurb
  • Printable flier
  • Program registration link
  • Program point-of-contact

*Eligible households may already participate in SSI, Medicaid, WIC, SNAP, Section 8 Vouchers, Public Housing, Lifeline, Project-Based Rental Assistance, Free and Reduced-Price School Lunch/Breakfast Program, Federal Pell Grants, and other assistance programs.
